Wisconsin Marathon is going to take play on Saturday, May 5th 2018, in downtown Kenosha. It is a great Marathon that this year is turning 10 years old and it celebrates the occasion in a unique way. This Marathon is a special event that serves to fill the need for a long distance running event of great quality during the spring time in the Midwest. All runners and funs will have the chance to celebrate this even at the Post race party with free beer and brats.
This year it is anticipated to be a great event with a fun-filled atmosphere that is going to be more about the joy of running than the stress of competition. It is expected that more than 4,000 runners are going to run through the streets of Kenosha. Runners who are going to finish first will receive a Big Cheese Medal and at the same time they will have the chance to replenish their power with a beer and brat at the post-race party, by hearing great music hits.
The Marathon, 5k and Half Marathon will start racing on Ring road (next to Civil War Museum of Kenosha) and they will run through Harbor Park and they will go through various neighbourhoods, towards Pleasant Prairie. Then, runners are going to return to downtown.The course will pass from Simmons Island Park, through the lakefront and it will also pass toward Carthage College before returning to downtown.
Medals & Prizes
The medals for the marathoners and half marathon runners are going to be the same this year, but the ribbons are going to be different for each race. In fact, the ribbons will be colour coordinated, in order to match each race. Tech shirts will be given to all marathon runners. In addition, prizes are going to be given to the first, second and third place male and female in the marathon and half marathon. The top three finishers in the 5k race will receive a plaque.
